1890年のアメリカ。優勝賞金5,000万ドルをかけた、人類史上初の乗馬による北米大陸横断レース「スティール・ボール・ラン」が開催されようとしていた。かつて天才騎手と呼ばれながらも、半身不随となり、失意の中にいたジョニィ・ジョースターは、レース優勝を目論む謎のアウトロー、ジャイロ・ツェペリが引き起こした不思議な現象に希望を見出し、レース参加を決意。総距離約4,000マイルの過酷な冒険へと踏み出す。

It’s 1890, in America, the Steel Ball Run — the first horse racing championship across the North American continent — was about to begin. Johnny Joestar, once being hailed as a genius jockey, is now paralysed and lost in despair. He finds hope in the mysterious phenomena caused by Gyro Zeppeli, an outlaw aiming to win the race, and determines to participate in the 4,000 miles of grueling adventure.

1st STAGEを制したジャイロだったが、武器による走行妨害と判定され、順位降格のペナルティを課せられてしまう。気を取り直して2nd STAGEでの勝利を目指すジャイロは、ジョニィに協力関係を持ちかける。一方、レースの裏では異常な殺人事件が起きていた。その捜査のため、レース参加者であり伝説のカウボーイ、マウンテン・ティムに白羽の矢が立った。不穏な空気を孕んで開幕する2nd STAGE。レースの先で2人に新たな脅威が待ち受ける。

Although Gyro was the winner of the 1st STAGE, he was penalized with a drop in the rankings after being ruled to have obstructed another racer through the use of a weapon. Refocusing on the race ahead, Gyro sets his sights on victory in the 2nd STAGE and proposes an alliance with Johnny.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes of the race, a series of abnormal murders begins to unfold. To investigate the incidents, attention turns to fellow competitor and legendary cowboy Mountain Tim. As the 2nd STAGE gets underway under an ominous cloud of unease, a new threat awaits Johnny and Gyro on the road ahead.

砂漠に夜が訪れ、野営する二人。ジョニィはジャイロの教えをもとに"回転"の習得を試みていた。そして、偶然にジャイロのレース参加への動機を垣間見る。そこへ、毒トカゲに噛まれたと助けを求める不気味な男が現れる。彼は上位独占を目論むブンブーン一家の長兄だった。一家に包囲されたジョニィとジャイロは、人智を超越した攻撃に追い詰められる。機転で窮地を脱した二人だったが、それは巧妙な罠の入り口に過ぎず…。

As night falls over the desert, Johnny and Gyro make camp. Under Gyro’s guidance, Johnny begins training to master the mysterious power of the Spin, and in doing so catches a glimpse of the true reason behind Gyro’s journey in the Steel Ball Run.

Their quiet night is interrupted when a sinister-looking man appears, pleading for help after being bitten by a venomous lizard. But the man is none other than the eldest brother of the Boom Boom Family, a ruthless trio determined to dominate the race.

Surrounded by their enemies, Johnny and Gyro find themselves under attack from a terrifying force beyond human understanding. Through quick thinking and determination, they narrowly escape certain defeat. Yet their hard-earned victory proves to be only the first step into a far more elaborate trap...
